San Diego's FOX 6 News receives 15 Emmy Awards for outstanding achievement in television, more than any other station.
The Emmy Awards Presentation was held Saturday, June 18, 2005, by the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (N.A.T.A.S.) at the Omni Hotel in San Diego. The Pacific Southwest Chapter serves the television markets of San Diego, Bakersfield, Oxnard, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fox 6 News personnel accepted awards for excellence in several categories, including Journalistic Enterprise and Specialty Reporting.

"We have some of the best storytellers in the business here," said Alberto Pando, News Director. "I'm so proud of our entire team, and we will keep working to make Fox 6 News even better."

"This has been a tremendous year for us at Fox 6," said Richard Doutre Jones, General Manager. "Not only is our news number one at ten, but our news team is one of the most honored in the entire country."

What are the Emmy Awards?
The purpose of the Emmy Awards is to recognize outstanding achievements in television by conferring annual awards of merit in the chapter’s designated award region. The annual presentation of these awards is intended to be an incentive for the continued pursuit of excellence for those working in the television industry and to focus public attention on outstanding cultural, educational, technological, entertainment, news and informational achievements in television.

Who is N.A.T.A.S?
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) was founded in 1957. It is dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. It recognizes excellence in television with the coveted Emmy Award. There are eighteen Chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences who bring Emmy Awards – and other activities – to local and regional television coast-to-coast across America. San Diego is part the Pacific Southwest Chapter of NATAS.
