SAN DIEGO'S FOX 6 WINS 26 EMMY AWARDS
San Diego, California, (June 7, 2006) – San Diego's Fox 6 received a total of 26 Emmy Awards for outstanding achievement in television, more than any other local station.
The Emmy Awards presentation was held Saturday, June 3, by the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (N.A.T.A.S.) at the Omni Hotel in San Diego. The Pacific Southwest Chapter serves the television markets of San Diego, Bakersfield, Oxnard, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Fox 6 News personnel accepted awards for excellence in several categories, including Journalistic Enterprise and Newscast (Designated Day).
"Once again our peers have given us a tremendous honor," said Richard Doutre Jones, Vice President and General Manager. "Our news remains number one at 10pm, so it’s a great feeling to achieve such success in ratings and rewards like this."
"As the newest member of the Fox 6 News team, I am truly proud," said Tauna Lange, who joined Fox 6 as News Director in March. "We have some of the best people in broadcasting creating the best news in the market."
