Lynda Martin has been a familiar face to San Diego news viewers since 1999.
She's an early riser, co-anchoring San Diego 6 News in the Morning with Marc Bailey beginning at 5 A.M. each weekday.
The four-time Emmy nominee helped launch San Diego 6 News when it first went on the air. Three years later, Lynda moved to anchor KSWB's newscast.
Her next venture was no small feat, taking some time off to have two little boys.
Lynda was born in London, England and moved around the United States before going to college at Syracuse University in New York. From there, she headed off to Worcester, Massachusetts for that "first job" as a radio DJ overnights. Her first television news anchoring job was also in Worcester.
Lynda went on to anchor at WGGB-ABC in Springfield, MA before heading west to a CBS affiliate on the Central Coast of CA.
Here in San Diego, Lynda is an active board member for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in San Diego.
She ran in two marathons- the first one through "Team in Training." She has also been active in both The-Make-A-Wish Foundation and Special Olympics. Special Olympics is an organization close to her heart because her twin brother has autism and has been an active participant in the games.
Lynda enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys and two Golden Retrievers in her spare time.
