LAKESIDE - A little boy in Lakeside found himself in an unusual predicament which called for an unusual rescue.

The seven-year-old got his head stuck in a storm drain when he was trying to reach for a toy that fell through the drain.

It happened Thursday morning on Big Cone Court in Lakeside.

El Cajon Fire officials had to use the Jaws of Life to break apart the concrete and steel drain to help the child out.

It took rescuers about 40 minutes to free the youngster's head from the drain opening.

Lakeside paramedics checked the boy out and determined he was not injured by the frightening experience.
