Escondido Apartment Complex FireESCONDIDO - Four people were receiving aid from the American Red Cross today after an Escondido apartment complex caught fire. The fire began at 1:50 p.m. at the apartment complex on East Mission Avenue near Juniper Street in Escondido. No injuries were reported but surrounding buildings were evacuated, an Escondido Fire Department dispatcher said. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the number of residents displaces by the fire was unknown but four people would be receiving aid. The blaze began in a first-floor unit that was destroyed. The unit above it was damaged by flames and four other units were damaged by smoke and water, the Union-Tribune reported. Firefighters were investigating the cause of the fire. |
