CHULA VISTA - A 71-year-old man accused of molesting a girl at his Chula Vista home pleaded not guilty Monday to three counts of committing a lewd act with a child.

Thomas Aubrey Garrett, a former commodore of the Coronado Yacht Club, was ordered held on $350,000 bail.

A bail review hearing is scheduled Thursday at the South Bay Courthouse for the defendant, who faces 11 years in state prison if convicted, said Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Ocain.

Garrett was arrested Friday on a warrant stemming from accusations made last year by the alleged victim's mother.

Judge Katherine Bacal set a readiness conference for Feb. 16 and a preliminary hearing for April 30.

The defendant is a founder of an annual Coronado race that raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, according to the Coronado Eagle & Journal.
