A few Gaslamp business owners will be in the dark Wednesday night during a planned power outage and it starts during evening rush.

Several popular restaurants in the Gaslamp area will be forced to close their doors for the evening.

According to SDG&E the outage will last from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday morning. The outage will effect 72 customers in the 500-block of 4th Ave., 600-block of 5th Ave., parts of 7th Ave, G St., and Market Street.

Customers were informed about the planned outage on February 3rd, according to SDG&E spokesperson April Bernhardt.

"Never an opportune time to have an outage, but we try to give as much notice as possible," Bernhardt said.
