A San Ysidro family is in mourning Wednesday after laying their 13-year-old son to rest. Ulysses Castrejon was killed execution-style while attending a birthday party at his grandparents house in Tijuana.

Ulysses was among five people who were gunned down Saturday night, according to Mexican police. Three armed men stormed the home and ordered women and children to one side and the men into the kitchen.

Ulysses was a student at San Ysidro Middle School. His classmates recall what happened next.

"He thought it was a joke and stayed with the adults," said student Darin Ramos. "They took him with the adults and they laid him down in the kitchen and they executed each one of them."

"His grandpa was like, 'no, he's just a little boy. He's just a little boy.' they're like, 'no, not today,' then they killed him," another student told us.

Ulysses grandfather was also killed during the attack. His father was also shot, but survived his wounds.
