"Surfer's Dream" Along San Diego's Coastline

By San Diego 6 News Reporters

COASTAL AREAS - In the typically cool month of January, Thursday is expected to be unseasonably warm with temperatures in the 70's at our beaches.

To top it off, a decent surf is expected with waves averaging five to six feet. Joseph Diamond just got back from Hawaii and has been surfing for seven years. He's still excited about Thursday's waves.

He says the conditions are especially ideal for beginners.

Waves are expected to peak around 4 PM. Lifeguards will be on high alert. They want to remind beachgoers to swim near lifeguard towers.
