SAN DIEGO - Six gang members are in custody on suspicion of stealing from a Logan Heights liquor store and opening fire on the establishment, police said.
The shooting at Mullen's Liquor, 3011 Imperial Ave. was reported at 11:07 p.m. Wednesday, San Diego police Officer Brad Ruff said.
The suspects took some chips without paying for them, then fought with a security guard who tried to stop them before they got into a vehicle and drove off, Ruff said.
They returned a short time later, according to Ruff, who said one of them fired two rounds from a handgun at the business while the group yelled gang slogans.
No one was injured in the shooting.
Police later found the getaway vehicle a short distance away, along with all six suspects, who were arrested after being positively identified by witnesses, Ruff said. Their names were not immediately released.
A recently fired .38 caliber revolver was recovered, according to Ruff.
The alleged gang members were arrested on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and parole violations.
