SAN DIEGO - Customers of the Los Tules Mutual Water Co. in Warner Springs were told Wednesday to boil their water after total coliform bacteria was detected in the system.
When the bacteria is found in the water supply, it could come from soil or contact with other environmental sources, according to the county Department of Environmental Health. E. coli was not found during testing, however.
Customers of the system in northeastern San Diego County will be instructed to boil water until the distribution system has been disinfected and no bacteria is found in the water supply.
