PALA - A brush fire sparked by mowing equipment burned about six acres near the Pauma Valley Country Club in north San Diego County Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was near Pankey Road and Highway 76, about two miles east of the country club.
Cal Fire reports the fire was discovered just after 1:00 p.m. and burned into an area with lots of dry brush. The state fire agency reports the fire's spread was stopped shortly before 2:00.
About 150 firefighters were at the scene and were assisted by water drops from five aircraft.
One firefighter was treated at the scene for heat exhaustion.
