ESCONDIDO - An Escondido man was arrested Monday on suspicion of burglarizing his ex-girlfriend's apartment while she was taking a shower.

Kenneth Saunico, 25, allegedly climbed through a window to get into the residence in the 1500 block of East Grand Avenue in Escondido shortly before 9:30 a.m., Lt. Michael Loarie said.

The victim came out of her bathroom to see the intruder leaving the apartment, carrying some property belonging to her, Loarie said.

About 15 minutes later, patrol officers spotted Saunico driving near the victim's residence, pulled him over and arrested him on suspicion of residential burglary.

Items believed to have been stolen from the woman were found inside the suspect's car, according to Loarie, who declined to describe the property.
