SAN DIEGO - A pedestrian fatality affected traffic heading into Fashion Valley Friday morning.
The body of a woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found along the side of state Route 163 southbound near Interstate 8.
The body appeared to be that of a pedestrian, said California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Ray Scheidnes. It was found on southbound 163, just north of I-8, by a passing motorist who called 911 at 5:25 a.m.
A San Diego 6 News crew at the scene reports crash debris at the scene indicates she was hit by a Honda Civic that left the scene. The body was found at 5:25 a.m.
The Hotel Circle off ramp from southbound 163 was closed until about 7:15 a.m.
