EL CAJON - A man who beat the mother of his child in a drunken rage on Thanksgiving morning, then held her hostage in a home in Rancho San Diego, was sentenced Wednesday to six years in state prison.
Francisco Enrique McCrary, 37, pleaded guilty Dec. 30 to one count each of domestic violence with injuries and assault and two counts of false imprisonment, said Deputy District Attorney Kurt Mechals.
McCrary choked the victim into unconsciousness early on the morning of Nov. 26, then kept her in the home against her will -- along with their 5-year-old son and two other children -- and prevented them from calling for help, said sheriff's Detective Pete Carrillo.
McCrary eventually let them go after the woman drove him to a trolley stop in La Mesa, Carrillo said.
She was treated at Grossmont Hospital, and McCrary was arrested the following Tuesday in Linda Vista, the detective said.
Mechals said the defendant had been drinking.
"He wanted to kiss her, she says `no,' he throws her on the bed and starts punching her and kicking her," Mechals said earlier.
The woman had consumed alcohol, as well, but apparently not as much as the defendant, the prosecutor said.
