SAN DIEGO - San Diego firefighters fought a two-alarm church fire in the Logan Heights area Thursday morning.

The fire was reported at the corner of 30th Street and National Avenue at the Iglesia Pentacostal Church.  The fire also spread to a neighboring liquor store.  A tire store and a document storage facility are also on either side of the church, but fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading there.

No one was at the church when the fire broke out, but as many as 70 people were expected there a short time later for a Thanksgiving potluck dinner.

The fire was reported at about 9:45 a.m. Thursday.  It's believed it started in a back room of the church, but the cause hasn't been determined.

The area is just north of Interstate 5.
