SAN DIEGO - Three men are custody, two of them with a trip to the hospital, after allegedly robbing a medical marijuana dispensary in east San Diego at gunpoint on Wednesday.
Police say the three robbers entered the Giving Tree on the 6100 block of University Avenue in Rolando shortly after 10 a.m..
Witnesses saw two of them displaying handguns as they filled-up a large duffle bag with marijuana products.
Police say they also struck a female customer on the back of the head, possibly with one of the pistols.
Any hope of a clean get-away was foiled as a man who worked at the dispensary followed the suspects in his own vehicle as they ran to their get-away car on nearby Malcolm Drive. The two cars collided and the four suspects took off on foot.
Police made three arrests but believe a fourth suspect may still be on the loose. One of those arrested is under 18.
There were no serious injuries.
