SAN DIEGO - A driver struck and injured a pedestrian Wednesday in University City, tying up a busy intersection just as the morning commute got under way, police said.
The accident at Nobel Drive and Genesee Avenue was reported at 5:37 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.
Paramedics took the pedestrian to a nearby hospital, a San Diego fire- rescue dispatcher said. The extent of the victim's injuries was not immediately released.
Morning commuters were directed around the intersection for more than an hour while investigators gathered evidence.
