Another elementary school teacher is being accused of molesting a former student. This time it's happened at Rosa Parks Elementary School in City Heights. The teacher, 35-year old Adrienne Feistel, is accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy she befriended. The molestation allegedly occurred while the boy was in 7th grade. Feistel's neighbors are in disbelief.

"She's always seemed very sweet. Very nice to me. Very loving at her son. This doesn't seem like something she would do," says a neighbor who did not want to be identified.

At one point Feistel was reportedly living with the boy's family.  She no longer works at Rosa Parks and the boy is now 15-years-old. Deputy District Attorney Wendy Patrick Mazzarella says the molestation happened from August 2006 to August 2008.

"The incidents happened after this victim was out of her class, but spanned off and on during that entire period." Says Mazzarella.

Authorities say the crime was reported by the teenage boy when police were interviewing him about an unrelated incident, a confrontation between the boy's mother and sister. Neighbors tell San Diego Six News that Feistel moved out of the neighborhood last October and is separated from her husband who is a San Diego Sheriff's Department Deputy.

Those same neighbors are trying to come to grips with the allegations.

"Surprised and shocked. It doesn't seem like something she would do." says the unidentified neighbor.

If convicted, Feistel could face up to eight years in prison.  She sits in jail at the Las Colinas Detention Facility in Santee. Her bail was set at $50,000.

Amazing how frequent this is. People have wondered why boys aren't doing as well in school. Perhaps an environment that would treat boys this way is not a nurturing environment. People have also always thought that child molestation was a male crime. It's amazing how wrong they turned out to be, when police started looking for female perpetrators. The floodgates have opened.

This is happening all over the country. Go to www.schoolteachernews.com and click on the Scandal page. This year they have documented over 125 of these types of incidents. In 2008 they found 479 of these kinds of cases.
