SAN DIEGO - A disagreement between two senior citizens in Logan Heights escalated Friday into a stabbing that sent one of the men to a hospital and the other to county jail, authorities reported.

A witness flagged down San Diego police officers shortly before 2 p.m. and reported the assault in the 2700 block of Imperial Avenue, SDPD Sgt. Ray Battrick said.

The patrol personnel went to the scene of the fight and found a 71-year-old man suffering from non-life-threatening knife wounds to his face, chest and hand. He was taken to a hospital.

Based on statements from the witness and victim, the officers found the 64-year-old alleged assailant on a city bus and arrested him, Battrick said. The suspect's name was not immediately available.
