SAN DIEGO - The body of a teen found murdered on a Tijuana beach has been identified as a North Carolina native who had been living in Orange County.
The U.S. consulate in Mexico identified the victim as 19-year-old Shane Pennington.
He was found dead on the beach at Playas de Tijuana a week ago with six stab wounds in his head, neck, back and chest. The knife had been left in his chest.
His mother, Elizabeth Taylor, says she has had trouble getting information from Tijuana officials and San Diego Police. She says she also doesn't know when she will be able to have his body returned.
Shane was working for a meat company in Orange County driving a delivery truck. The day before he disappeared with his delivery truck, Shane sent a text message to his boss saying he would be in late after he went to a doctor's appointment.
There have been no arrests in his murder.
