SAN DIEGO - The death of a 3-month-old girl in Serra Mesa who had multiple unexplained injuries inflicted over time is under investigation.
A 25-year-old man who was babysitting the girl in the 9000 block of Gramercy Drive while her parents were at work called 911 around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday to report the infant was cold and pale, and possibly dead, said San Diego police homicide Lt. Kevin Rooney.
An autopsy found multiple unexplained injuries inflicted over time, according to Rooney. The lieutenant did not specify what types of injuries were found.
The cause of death was also not immediately released.
Five adults who live in the three-bedroom apartment were questioned, Rooney said.
