CHULA VISTA - A 46-year-old woman was critically injured when a van struck her at a Chula Vista parking lot, police said Friday.
The woman, whose name was not released, was transported to UCSD Medical Center with a skull fracture and listed in critical condition late Thursday night, said Chula Vista police Officer Christopher Fisher.
The woman was walking in a parking lot on the northeast corner of Broadway and Palomar Street around 6:45 p.m. Thursday when a van driven by a 43-year-old man struck her as it traveled slowly through the lot, Fisher said.
Witnesses told the driver that he had hit someone and when he looked out the driver's side window, he saw the woman lying under his vehicle with her legs straddling the front left tire, Fisher said. She was transported to the hospital.
The CVPD traffic unit is investigating the incident. No arrests have been made, according to Fisher.
