By San Diego 6 News Desk

UPDATE: Geronimo has been adopted!   To learn more about other adoptable animals, contact the San Diego Animal Support Foundation at www.SDShelters.com.

Geronimo is a neutered male, 4 month old black and white, domestic short hair.  He's basically a little bundle of love.

He was raised by a wonderful human surrogate mother along with his 2 other siblings, so he really loves and trusts people.  He is litter box trained, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested for diseases.

The National Cat Protection Society has many black and white cats now because it seems every one wants a calico or tabby-colored cat these days.

If you're a senior citizen, the shelter would like to remind you that the Purina senior discount begins February 1st, so seniors can adopt cats for $25.

The National Cat Protection Society is also in need of volunteers.  They recently started a Student Rewards Program which teaches kids how to take care of cats at the shelter while earning medals.  The program is open to elementary and high school students.

For more information about adoption, or to find out about other programs, please visit the National Cat Protection Society  at 9031 Birch Street in Spring Valley.   You can contact them at (619) 469-8771.
