USOC board makes no call on future Olympic bid
The U.S. Olympic Committee board met Thursday without discussing a potential bid for the 2022 or 2024 Olympics.
The meeting was held via conference call after a trip to the scheduled site, San Jose, Calif., was canceled because of wildfires that have displaced at least 40 employees at the USOC headquarters in Colorado Springs.
On Wednesday, an exploratory committee in Denver endorsed plans to bid for the 2022 Games if the USOC decides to try for them.
Board members were expected to discuss the pros and cons of bidding for Winter Games in 2022 or Summer Games in 2024. But the topic didn't come up and will instead be discussed during another conference call next month.
