SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Two people have been hit and killed by commuter trains in two unrelated incidents in San Jose and Redwood City.

Authorities say a man walking on the tracks was struck Friday afternoon by a northbound Altamont Commuter Express train. Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn says the train had just pulled out of the Diridon Station in San Jose.

About two hours later, a woman was struck on Maple Street in Redwood City by another northbound Caltrain.

The names of the victims have not been released.

The fatalities are the 14th and 15th deaths on the Caltrain tracks this year, all since May.
