Bamboo Flooring

The Beginning
The concept of Cali Bamboo was developed through a life philosophy; it was conceived during the tail end of a year long surf trip. Two friends embarked on a journey of self discovery, surf exploration, and world travel. After a dozen new stamps in their passports and a lifetime of memories, the two found themselves on the outer island of Kauai with no funds.

Between dissipating swell and mundane odd jobs, they had plenty of time on their hands to ponder the future and reflect on their travels. While reminiscing of perfect waves, majestic mountains, and remote country sides, the conversations would inevitably shift back to the same topic: How did the world look before man left his footprint? What was it like to surf after it rained and not develop fever or sickness from polluted waters? How did it look before plastic bags and soda cans became the "official flower" in some countries?

These were some of the thoughts and experiences that fueled founders Jeff Goldberg and Tanner Haigwood's platform idea: Create a business that can make a difference.

Cali Bamboo was formed in 2004. It was founded and is run by people who love the outdoors and share the commitment to protect it. Cali Bamboo currently donates 1% of its revenue to various environmental organizations and will only sell products that are sustainable and do not impact the planet negatively.

The Mission
"Cali Bamboo's mission is to promote the use of bamboo as a new material for everyday products. It is our hope, that by providing alternative products made from renewable resources, we can make a difference in the future of our planet."
