SAN DIEGO – 18-year-old Oliver Plunket from England embarked on a 24,000 mile journey traveling from Argentina to Alaska on motorcycle back in December. Traveling about 400 miles a day, he hopes to make it to Prudhoe Bay Alaska by mid July. Plunket's goal is to raise over $150,000 for the Fisher House foundation which is expanding facilities in the United Kingdom.
Fisher House provides free housing to military families at military hospitals throughout the world so they can be close to their injured loved ones. Plunket stopped Monday at the Naval Medical Center San Diego – Fisher House to mark one stage in his journey.
